NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation) announces the Blu-ray box set for Mushishi at its official Mushishi website.

The high-definition box set is comprised of five discs that hold all 26 episodes and special features for the series. The discs are accompanied with a 23-page character design picture booklet and a new Ginko illustration by chief animator and character design, Yasuhiko Umakoshi, on the inner fold of the box as added bonus.

The main feature, which has a running time of 613 minutes total in four-disc, will have a resolution of 1080i in anamorphic widescreen and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 channel for its audio. The box set is schedule for release on March 27, 2009, and Avex Marketing, Inc (Avex Entertainment Co.) will distribute it in Japan.

Disc 5 contains all of the added special features with a total running time of 203 minutes, and will be in 4:3 aspect ratio with Linear PCM audio.
