Hellsing VI is coming to Blu-ray in Japan on July 24, 2009. The BD will run for 42 minutes with LPCM 5.1 Channel for its audio. A limited edition version with a box will also be availalbe. It was also announced that previous volumes will become available in Blu-ray, although release dates has not been determine.

It was announced that the latest anime from Production I.G which started broadcasting in Japan on April 9 of this year, Eden of the East, is heading to Blu-ray. The first volume will street on July 29, 2009 with 2 episodes (45 minutes), and a total of five volumes to be release from July to November.  (more…)

X’amd: Lost Memories is going Blu on July 22. The first volume will include the first two episodes of the series, and extras included are non-credit opening and ending animation, various promotional videos, and illustrated box, and Episode 1 & 2 storyboards. Standard DVD, which will be release on the same day, will not include the box and storyboards.

According to an article in animeanime.jp, Square Enix has sent out a press release denouncing the illegal upload of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete High-Definition (Blu-ray) file to torrent and file sharing site. The release indicated that cease and desist letters was sent out to the file sharing sites, and the company will be pursuing legal punishment if the files are not removed. Many of the sites have complied with the request. Square Enix was force to take an aggressive approach to protect one of its most important and popular properties.

After releasing the Utawarerumo Limited Edition Box Set on Blu-ray over a year ago on January 23, 2009, it was announced that a new version of four individual volumes for the series will be sold at an affordable price. First volume to street on June 24. (more…)

The limited edition of the Gegege no Kitaro movie has over 160 minutes of video extras, including a long interview, a dubbing studio report, an event video, and a video called “Yokoso Yokai no Machi e! Kitarou to Iku Mizuki Shigeru Road” which Minami Takayama directed, scripted, and edited. The BD is schedule for release on June 21, 2009.

On going anime based on Mizuki Kawashita’s manga, Hatsukoi Limited, is heading for Blu-ray and DVD on July 27, 2009 in Japan. The volume will include two episodes (Beauty A and the Beast Z and Yamamoto-san from Next Door), and includes the new anime Gentei Shojo. (more…)
